  • Something about uploading this to youtube has desynched the sounds, guys. I tried several times and can't seem to make it stay as it is on my PC. Apologies.
  • Centered gauge display: want.
  • Pretty interesting. Having never played Forza 1 I'm struck by two things:

Fujimi looks like a freeway compared to the version in FM4! That is a pretty wide mountain road!

Secondly, you can really see the Gran Turismo influence. Which makes sense due to GT being the benchmark at the time.
  • The second (top) half of Fujimi is much narrower(You probably remember from the "old" versions of the track from FM4, as you eluded to). However, in saying that, all the tracks in FM1 ended up being wider than intended due to a scaling problem that Turn 10 admitted to once they released FM3. They slowly went through and addressed this issue track by track as the games came out. This is why the Forza versions of the Nurburgring have always been too big (until FM5), because they never got around to fixing the scaling issue for that particular track until the XBox One hit.

Despite some small flaws and the absence of a cockpit view, I feel like FM1 had more passion put into the making of it than FM2-6. It's hard to explain even in video format. There's just something about the first game that drips with character somehow absent from it's successors. Stepping straight from FM1 to FM2 always makes me cringe "they're trying too hard". Like it went from being a game made from the heart to one from the head (and the money makers)..
