This coming thursday the 19th of november (wednesday the 18th for you guys), my daughter has an appointment with a specialist about her leg/knee.
Unfortunately, that means I will not be available to run the lobby or participate this week.
Would you guys prefer to wait a week until I can do it? or just run it without me? I don't mind either way (Top Gear East, Wet, 3 laps support class and 16 laps Group A).
F-dog or Reno could one of you perhaps run it? If you guys do the round without me, could someone please save the replay? :-)
Last week, the wet bitumen of the ever rainy Top Gear track played host to our rally cars on it's eastern portion.
This was a round which saw 4 different race leaders, but which ultimately led to Ace winning both the support class and the main game to further his lead, yet again.
So, in our most recent round, the Rallye Stars in Rallye Cars made their way to Lime Rock Park (with West Chicane). It was an interesting event, with many making use of the grass-driving abilities of their awd systems.
It was a round which also saw a couple of new drivers make impressive debut appearances in the series.
There were a multitude of slides, bumps and crashes on almost every lap and several lead changes. At one time or another, it appeared that RenoWrench, Racer X, Pistolpig, F-DOG or Dreamer could have won the event.
Ultimately, despite a massive rollover mid-race, ace once again took the chequered flag.
Due to medical appointments, and general Christmas/New Year stuff, the Rallye series will be on break for 3 weeks. We'll continue it on 6th of January, fellas. I hope that works for everyone. Let me know if it doesn't.
The last round at Mt Panorama, Bathurst, saw the support class won by pistol. Despite a number of lead changes, and a particularly strong showing from USDMDrifter (who spent more time in the lead than anyone else), ace continued his dominance of the main Group A Class. Updated points look like this :
Sebring short hosted this round and while the weather held for the support class, the rain was bucketing down by the time the Group A cars hit the stage.
Metalburn took out the support race(by 2 1000ths of a second), while, in what is now a totally untouchable domination, aceCaptain Slow again took out the main event.
Just a couple of hours until the final round. Good luck to everyone and thanks for participating in the series thus far! I hope it has been a good re-introduction to having a regular(almost) racing series. I look forward to Reno's upcoming one and whatever anyone else cooks up.
In the final round, Renowrench took a win from a hard fighting Popolac. The overall championship result was never ever in question though. Winning all bar one round (this final one), it was always aceCaptain Slow. Congratulations Ace!
